DORRIS CITY COUNCIL MINUETS
REGULAR MEETING AT CITY HALL
MONDAY MARCH 17th, 2025 AT 6:00pm

Roll Call: Abner Weed, Donald Clontz, Barry Barkman, Stan Beck
Absent: Robert Baldwin.
Business of the Audience: None.
1. Approval of Agenda: Mr. Beck made a motion to approve the agenda. Mi. Barkman seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.
2. Siskiyou County Sheriff's Report.: Abner Weed made a presentation on his rejoining of the sheriff's dept. Mr. Weed also disclosed continuing forward he will no longer be eligible to vote on anything for the sheriff's office though he is allowed to be present in the discussion but can make no action.
3. Fire Department Report: None.
4. Approve MOU between the City of Dorris and Butte Valley Youth Sports for use of the Baseball fields, concession stand, and bathrooms: Butte Valley Youth Sports coaches and representatives were present gave presentation on the use of the Baseball fields, concession stand, and bathrooms.
The Butte Valley youth sports group also requested the deposit be waved. Council discussed getting each coach their own key to the facilities, council also discussed leaving the deposit as is until it is determined if the concession will be in use by butte valley youth Sports. Item added to future agenda. Discussion no action.
5. Butte Valley High School Student Leadership is requesting a prize donation for the April 11", 2025 Carnival: Butte Valley High School Student Leadership Representative was present. Gav presentation on the request for a prize donation for the April 11*, 2025 Carnival. Mr. Weed made a motion to donate $80 for coffee gift cards from our local coffee shop. Mr. Beck Seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.
6. Butte Valley Fire give direction on improving cooperation efforts between emergency response agencies and give direction on limitations for Dorris Fire: Butte Valley Fire representative was present gave presentation on improving cooperation efforts between emergency response agencies and give direction on limitations for Dorris Fire. Council requested an MOU Be Drafted between Dorris, Butte valley and gazelle fire. Discussion no action.
7. First 5 would like council to Adopt the proclamation to take a stance against Child Abuse in honor of Child abuse prevention in April and week of the Young child April 5"- 11" 2025. : First 5 Representative was present, gave presentation on the Adoption of proclamation to take a stance against Child Abuse in honor of Child abuse prevention in April and week of the Young child April 5"- 11", 2025. Mr. Barkman Seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
8. Adopt Resolution 25-02 For the General Plan Annual Progress Report - Acceptance of the 2024 General Plan Annual Progress Report and submittal of the report to the State of California pursuant to Government Code Sec. 65400: City planner gave presentation on the Adoption of Resolution 25-02 For the General Plan Annual Progress Report - Acceptance of the 2024 General Plan Annual Progress Report and submittal of the report to the State of California pursuant to Government Code Sec. 65400. Mr. Beck Seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
9. Approve purchase from CED of 3 light case/bulbs in the amount of $9,453.42. : City admin Gave presentation on the Approval of purchase from CED of 3 light case/bulbs in the amount of $9,453.42. 10. Admin & Staff- Council Reports Financials
a. Update on City Admin: City admin gave presentation, interviews will be held in the second week of April. Discussion no action.
. Update on Spring Spruce up: Spring Spruce Up has officially been scheduled fo Saturday May 3* 2025. Discussion no action.
11. Future Agenda: MOU between the City of Dorris and Butte Valley Youth Sports, Draft MOU between Dorris, Butte valley and gazelle fire. Update on city admin.
Consent Agenda - Mr. Weed Made a motion to combine items A&B and approve the consent agenda. Mr Barkman Seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
