Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Daisy Quiroz. I am a resident of Downey. I live on and yesterday I witnessed a horrific traffic collision.
Please consider reviewing the attached Traffic Calming Petition. It has been a couple of terrifying months for the community. Last night, the neighbors gathered around, witnessing the accident and fearing that it had gone too far.
We are pleading with you to improve the neighborhood and redesign Paramount Blvd. from the 1-5 bridge to Lubec St.

• A Speed radar feedback sighs alerts traffic to think twice before speeding. • A One Lane is a perfect solution to control traffic, driver's speed, and protect residents' cars. • A Bike lane is added for bicyclist safety and improve the neighborhood. • A Sidewalk is needed between each Medians for our pedestrian's and neighbors to walk safely across the neighborhood.
• Semi -trailers shouldn't be driving through our residential area but take Lakewood Blvd route.
Homeowner's are in Fear that one day a trailer will run over a resident or drive into a home !

Daisy, I'm so happy to share my awful interior photos from my dining room, and my 2 is bedrooms if it will help people understand the serious damage, we face every day from the excessive traffic and speed we bare every day. I have lived on Paramount Blvd for over 40 years. Just because our homes sit on Paramount Blvd., we are tax paying, hardworking middle-class people who want to live without our ceilings about to fall over our heads. I won't let anyone sleep under the cracks in my cengs because I live in fear of possible harm to my grandchildren. We residents deserve the same respect that is afforded the residents on Brookshire Rd. Speed signs, and city sponsored support for their expensive homes and property. Another upsetting result of the excessive speed and traffic on Paramount Blvd. Are the unprecedented accidents to our parked cars on Paramount Blvd. We suffered one such accident by a hit and run truck. Our dear mothers only car was left smashed and suffered such damage it couldn't be repaired. I watched other residents suffer the same experience. Since Paramount Blvd has no lowered speed signs or signs that trucks should use Lakewood Blvd. We are disturbed at all hours by this unfair and totally repairable issue. For the sake of the families that reside on Paramount Blvd please help keep our homes safe and our streets quieter and.

I would like to mention the details of the oath an immigrant takes to becoming a citizen of this United States of America, the greatest nation and culture on the face of the earth ever to exist throughout history. The details read like this..."I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure (or renounce) all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, . Studying these words should be required for all citizens of Downey. Something to think about.
