The City • Downey's Transit Depot is the City's hub •r public transportation. The four fixed routes for the Downey Link begin and end at the Transit Depot. Other local transportation agencies such as LA Metro, Orange County Transit Authority, and Long Beach Transit also stop at the Transit Depot for local connections. The Transit Depot also serves as the yard for various City owned Dial a -• vehicles.
The security cameras at the Transit Depot need replacement due to them no longer being operational and being outdated. The security cameras will provide coverage of the bus arrival/departure lanes, the front of the Transit Depot building, and the adjacent parking lot that houses transit vehicles.
The Information Technology division received 3 quotes for the equipment, installation and software. BTI communications was the lowest qualified bid and has history working with the I.T. division •' • City projects.
