THE DOWNEY CLERGY COUNCIL

The Downey City Council established the Downey Clergy Council on March 22, 2018. At the time, local churches had expressed interest in the formation of a Clergy Council in order to unite leaders from all religious faiths and denominations with one mission: to support the Downey community in times of individual or collective need through volunteer service.
At its regularly scheduled meeting held on May 16, 2022, members of the Downey Clergy Council voted to request its dissolution with the intent of forming their own Clergy Council separate from the City. Members of the new Clergy Council will be responsible for planning and running all meetings and activities.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
