Subject: Our Relationship to art
Dear Nuance Populi,
What makes art and all that it encompasses so compelling? - Art inspires the un-ignited soul and has the power to heal ailments of a nonphysical kind.
- Art is one of the best ways to bring a community together around any topic or cultural ethos
- Art offers the catalytic spark for tourist commerce to revitalize a community - Art provides an outlet for those who can't express their dire needs through conventional modes of communication.
I say all this to say that I fully support Allister Hunter and the Downey Arts Coalition in calling for the City of Downey to take a hard look at supporting the arts within the 2022- 2023 budget. When catastrophe strikes, like this latest pandemic, art is usually the mistress that we lean on, feeding from her rich well of resources until we have the strength to go back out into the world. When all is calm again, we ghost her and act as if she didn't see us through the roughest points in our lives. Don't let Downey be that kind of community. Downey has much raw talent. 1 don't think you'll regret it.

I am so happy that you are going to Sacramento. Now we can watch as the FBI arrests you at the Capital. That is going to be a lot more exciting than here in Downey.
Seriously you can't even follow state law but you are going to write it? How's that going to work? Is your crime boss Rick Olivares writing it for you? Bc you have horrible presentation skills. We know someone passes the bar for you because you can't follow the law.
Your campaign was paid by water and school privatizers. You are literally worse than Christina Garcia.
So funny getting endorsement by the unions yet your going to continue Cristina Garcia's attempt to privatize. You are bad. Your a big toxica.
You are the worst Mayor Downey has ever had even Frometa doesn't like you.
Because you are corrupt. You should just save yourself and toss Trujillo under the bus! Who's a narco-procurador like they have in other countries. You people are bad for Downey. Nevermind ojos locos, we have to focus on you people, city council with out ethical limits. Bad for Downey! Engaging in conflict of interest behavior. Just leave the city like Livas! Have some respect for the stipend you ppl earn from out tax dollars.

As a long time Downey resident i thought it was important that the our community know the lies being projected by Blanca Pacheco. I found an well crafted video my Daughter had shared with me, where Blanca is claiming she wants to be known as a person who helped make a difference, a good listener Well ... That's all bullshit! She claims these things ONLY DURING ELECTIONS. When push comes to shove, she denies the hard working poor a 45 day moratorium. It seems the younger generation are more critical -minded and fearless, like my Daughter. Because of this I was able to look and research those public record video from Nov. 2019. Shame on you, Blanca. You are a grifter and a fraud and I truly do not know how you could look at yourself in the mirror .... How many people actually in Downey know of your refusal to help the less fortunate, the renters? It is a known fact: Downey is a city of renters not home owners, yet you refused to help the majority. Your decision was hostile and can not be undone. I hope people are listening and pay attention. You genuinely do not put the peoples interest first. This isn't an opinion, this is a sad fact .... Our community needs to stop supporting sell -out candidates like you just because they have a 'D'or'R' next to their name.
