distribution system, less power failures or interruptions at these facilities and reduced maintenance costs.

Now that the solar energy project is substantially complete, City staff is looking into implementing various security and infrastructure improvements at City facilities. These improvements include the following:

Wi-Fi network infrastructure — CEG will install electrical conduits and traffic -rated pull boxes from the solar canopies in front of the Library to the Downey Theatre electrical room and from the solar canopy in the City Hall west parking lot to the Police Department building electrical room. This will provide the necessary infrastructure for future Wi-Fi access/service at these locations.

Police Department exterior security cameras — CEG will install electrical conduits, cables, junction boxes and supporting infrastructure for the deployment of exterior security camera system for the Police Department. The cameras will be installed on light poles or underneath the solar canopies in the City Hall west parking lot, north parking lot and secured parking lot for the Police Department.

Building system assessment and evaluation — CEG will assess and evaluate implementation of energy management systems at City Hall and Police Department building. Assessment will include evaluation of replacing existing HVAC units with new high -efficiency HVAC units and/or implementing energy optimization of existing HVAC units.

Feasibility studies for solar energy and battery energy storage system improvements at other City facilities. CEG will perform comprehensive utility consumption analyses, solar energy generation modeling, develop range of magnitude costs, estimated energy cost savings and projected return on investment to determine feasibility of installing roof - mounted solar panels, solar canopies and battery energy storage systems at other City facilities, including Maintenance Yard, Utilities Yard, Independence Park, Rio Hondo Golf Club and groundwater wells.

Electric vehicle charging stations — CEG will furnish and install three dual -port Level 2 tlectric vehicle charging stations under the solar canopies in the parking lot in front of Downey Library and City Hall west parking lot.
