SUBJECT: APPROVE THE DONATION OF ONE FOURSOME OF GOLF AT THE Rl*
HONDO GOLF COURSE FOR THE GANGS OUT OF DOWNEY ANNUAL
GOLF TOURNAMENT ON OCTOBER 3,2022
That the City Council approve the donation of one foursome of golf at the Rio Hondo Golf Club for the Gangs Out Of Downey (G.O.O.D.) Annual Golf Tournament held on October 3, 2022 at the Rio Hondo Golf Course.
Founded in 1989, Gangs Out Of Downey (G.O.O.D.) strives to involve the entire community in the prevention of youth gang activity. The people of Downey never want to be in a position V-1 having to reclaim the streets and parks of our city. G.O.O.D. unifies local government, business, schools, civic organizations, and residents in this effort.
In helping to support this long standing community organization, Council is asked to consider donating one foursome of golf to the Gangs Out Of Downey (G.O.O.D.) Annual Golf Tournament at the Rio Hondo Golf Club held on October 3, 2022.
A round of golf ranges from $20 for Downey residents, youth and seniors on weekdays to $50 per person on weekends and holidays. The current agreement with the Rio Hondo Golf Club operator allows the City Council to authorize the City Manager's approval of courtesy play when the use benefits the City as approved by Council.
