There are 117 traffic signals, 12 flashing warning beacons and approximately 25 miles of fiber- optic communications within the City. As such, these traffic control devices and communications facilities require constant maintenance in order to maintain them in proper working condition for the safe, orderly flow of vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle traffic throughout the City as well as to provide voice, data and internet communications between City Hall and remote City facilities (i.e. signalized intersections, fire stations, Barbara J. Riley Community Center, Public Works Maintenance and Utilities Yard, Columbia Memorial Space Center, etc.). Given that the City lacks the ouse staff and expertise to maintain said infrastructure, the City must outsource said maintenance services to a contractor. The City last solicited the services of an outside contractor for this purpose in 2017. In order to ensure the services of an effective contractor at the most competitive prices to the extent practical, the City is soliciting bids for said services for a term of three years with an option to extend the term for up to three (3) additional year periods. 0 0
