Subject: Crossing guard for Unsworth elementary
Hello,
I am a concerned parent of students at Unsworth Elementary School and a homeowner in Downey. I attended a planning meeting where the new Chick a fil on Telegraph and Serapis Ave was being voted on.
Please see the picture below showing the proposed drive-thru exit on Serapis Ave. We are excited for an We already have heavy traffic during school hours and events at the school. We also have major parking issues and they will only get worse once people can't park at Chris' Burger. 10 cars park over night there as of now, that will then have to park on the streets.
With the increase in traffic and cars parked on streets we will have more traffic going pass the school.

We want to try and at least get a crossing guard before next year. I have many parents willing to call or e- mail that would like the same for our children and community. After that the city may need to remodel the school to help with the traffic, it's not safe the amount of cars and traffic already and it will only get worse. We just want to make sure the city is aware and maybe you have some ideas to help this area.
