PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE DOWNEY CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Council will consider approving a Professional Services Agreement with the Downey Chamber of Commerce. Since 1996, the City of Downey has entered into such an Agreement on an annual basis with the Downey Chamber of Commerce to promote civic, public relations, business development, and government/legislation services. This new Agreement will cover services for Fiscal Year 2023-24.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:
Approve the Professional Services Agreement with The Downey Chamber of Commerce to promote civic, public relations, business development, and government/legislation services, for a one-year term beginning on July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 for a total contract amount of $33,000.
BACKGROUND
Since 1996, the City of Downey has entered into a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) on an annual basis with The Downey Chamber of Commerce. The PSA outlines performance expectations of The Downey Chamber of Commerce, including promotion of the City of Downey and the business community, actively working on business recruitment, expansion, and retention efforts, and assistance with business and market information, education, and promotional services. City staff and the Chamber's Executive Director have collaborated on a proposed agreement for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 that includes specific deliverables, as detailed in Exhibit "A" of the attached PSA, in the following categories:
•public relations,
•business development,
•government/legislative inter-relations, and
•other miscellaneous ser vices.
