The City Council will consider approving the donation of one foursome of golf at the Rio Hondo Golf Course in support of the Community Family Guidance Center's 32 nd Annual Classic Golf Tournament scheduled for September 25, 2023.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:
Approve the donation of one foursome of golf at the Rio Hondo Golf Course in support of the Community Guidance Family Center's 32 nd Annual Classic Golf Tournament scheduled for September 25, 2023.
Established in 1976, the Community Family Guidance Center (CFGC), is a 501 (c)(3) non- profit agency serving the Southeast area of Los Angeles County, which provides mental health services to children and families recovering from trauma and abuse.
CFGC is headquartered in Cerritos and maintains a satellite office in Downey. The CFGC holds an annual Golf Classic Tournament that serves as a fundraiser event and will support ongoing mental health services. In helping to support this long-standing community agency, the City Council is asked to consider approving the donation of one foursome of golf at Rio Hondo Golf Course in support of the Golf Tournament fundraiser event.
ANALYSIS
A round of golf ranges from $23 for Downey resident's youth and seniors on weekdays to $59 per person on weekends and holidays. The current agreement with the Rio Hondo

Golf Course allows the City Council to authorize the City Manager's approval of courtesy play when the use benefits the City as approved by Council.

FISCAL IMPACT
Approval of this recommended action will result in an estimated revenue decrease in the amount of approximately $236 from the Parks & Recreation Department Account No. 52- 3-6610. There is sufficient working fund balance for the recommended actions.
