The City Council will consider amending Resolution No. 23-8174. Resolution No. 23-8174 that was approved by the Downey City Council had a typographical error in relation to the appropriation limit. The amendment will include the correct appropriation limit as provided during the Budget Workshop and Budget Adoption presentations.

RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:

Adopt Resolution No. 23 -8197 Amending the Adopted Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budget.

On June 27, 2023 the City Council approved Resolution No. 23-8174 with an appropriation limit of $249,572,492 for City Operations. The $249,572,492 number was a typographical error in the budget resolution document as it did not include monies related to CIP projects, specifically $6,025,000 in Special Revenue Fund 40 — CIP Projects and $16,690,000 in Enterprise Fund 51- Water Utility to total the actual Citywide appropriation limit of $272,278,492 that was stated in the Budget Workshop and Budget Adoption presentations, as well as entered in the City's financial system.

The adopted budget resolution, Resolution No. 23-8174 needs to be amended to state the correct total Citywide appropriation limit of $272,278,492 to align with the appropriations limit stated during the Budget Workshop and Budget Adoption presentations before the City Council, and entered in the City's financial system. Again, the proposed action is to correct a typo in the adopted budget resolution to match the presentation of budget information that was given to the City Council and community. No additional appropriations or requests for funding are a part of nor proposed as part of this action.

ANALYSIS
Attached to this report is Resolution No. 23-8197, which amends Resolution No. 23- 8174, Adopting the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budget and the Annual Appropriation Limit.

The budget resolution and its Exhibit A "Summary of Resources and Requirements by Funds" states the correct appropriation limit of $272,278,492.

There is no financial impact to City funds as the $272,278,492 amount was the number presented to the public and the expected budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024, and was correctly entered in the City's financial system at time of budget adoption.

FISCAL IMPACT
