SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO THE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE FOR COUNCIL DISTRICT 2
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Council will consider adopting a resolution to appoint Ms. Elvira Meraz to the Public Works Committee for Council District 2.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:
Adopt Resolution No. 23-8207, approving the appointment of Elvira Meraz to the Public Works Committee for Council District 2.
DISCUSSION
On October 15, 2023, the former Council District 2 appointee, Anthony Jones, submitted a letter of resignation from his position on the Public Works Committee to Council Member Hector Sosa. Council Member Sosa is recommending the appointment of Ms. Elvira Meraz to fill the current vacancy.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF ELVIRA MERAZ TO THE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE FOR COUNCIL DISTRICT 2
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Elvira Meraz is hereby appointed to the Public Works Committee for Council District 2 for the term expiring December 2026.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and transmit a copy thereof to the appointee.
