SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR COUNCIL DISTRICT 5
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Council will consider adopting a resolution to appoint Mr. Louis Morales to the Planning Commission for Council District 5.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:
Adopt Resolution No. 24-8223, approving the appointment of Louis Morales to the Planning Commission for Council District 5.
DISCUSSION
On November 7, 2023, Mr. Horacio Ortiz, Planning Commission appointee for Council District 5 was elected to the Downey City Council. Mr. Ortiz was sworn into office on December 12, 2023 and has submitted his resignation from the Planning Commission.
Mayor Trujillo is recommending the appointment of Mr. Louis Morales to fill the current vacancy on the Planning Commission for District 5.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF LOUIS MORALES TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR COUNCIL DISTRICT 5
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Louis Morales is hereby appointed to the Planning Commission for Council District 5 for the term expiring December 2024.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and transmit a copy thereof to the appointee.
