EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Council will consider approving the donation of one foursome of golf at the Rio Hondo Golf Course in support of the Kiwanis Club of Downey annual fundraiser event scheduled for March 15, 2024.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:
Approve the donation of the one foursome of golf in support of the Kiwanis Club of Downey.

The Downey Kiwanis Club is a non-profit organization in the City of Downey dedicated to providing service and support for children throughout the City. The Downey Kiwanis Club has been a long time City partner and supports many youth -oriented activities including the sponsorship of outdoor fitness equipment installed at Furman Park.
In helping to support this long-standing community organization the City Council is asked to consider donating one foursome of golf to the Kiwanis Club of Downey, which it will be able to auction off at its annual fundraiser event on March 15, 2024.
ANALYSIS
The City of Downey received a request for a donation of one foursome of golf at the Rio Hondo Golf Course in support of the Kiwanis Club of Downey annual casino night fundraiser event. This year's event theme is "Spring Training" and will be held on March 15, 2024.

A round of golf ranges from $22 for Downey resident youth and seniors on weekdays to $57 per person on weekends and holidays. The current agreement with the Rio Hondo Golf Course operator allows the City Council to authorize the City Manager's approval of courtesy play when the use benefits the City as approved by Council.

Approval of the recommended action will result in an estimated revenue decrease in the amount of $275 within the Parks and Recreation Department Account No. 52-3-6610.
