EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Council will consider approving a table sponsorship for the Rancho Los Amigos Amistad Gala taking place on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Westin Long Beach Hotel.
The Amistad Gala raises funds to help thousands of Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Center patients who have suffered catastrophic disabling injuries and illnesses obtain a quality of life that they never thought possible.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:
Approve the sponsorship of a table for the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation 38tn Annual Amistad Gala on April 27t", 2024.
Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center is an award -winning Los Angeles County hospital, based in the City of Downey, that treats complex rehabilitative cases, seeing nearly 4,000 inpatients and 85,000 outpatient visits annually. Since 1983, the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation has provided critical funding to Rancho Los Amigos for programs and services that address the hospital's needs.
ANALYSIS
The City of Downey received a request from the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation regarding a table sponsorship for the Amistad Gala on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The City has traditionally provided a table sponsorship for the annual event. The cost for the table sponsorship is $3,000.

FISCAL IMPACT
Approval of the recommended action will result in an expenditure of $3,000 within the General Fund - City Council Department, Account No. 10-4-1110-0140 for the table sponsorship. There is sufficient fund balance for the recommended actions.

You're invited to the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation's 38th Annual Amistad Gala! For years, this black tie celebration has helped thousands of Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center patients who have suffered catastrophic disabling injuries and illnesses (stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, neurological disorders, etc.) obtain a quality of life they never thought possible.
We are asking you to join us on Saturday, April 27, 2024 with a Table Sponsorship of $3,000. See attached for more information.
Our goal is to help Rancho's patients like Tina who had been an avid cyclist before suffering a debilitating stroke that left her disabled and unable to ride. Through her therapy at Rancho and the adaptive quality of life programs funded by the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation, Tina was able to take cycling back up and has made lasting friendships with other Rancho patients.
Tina is just one of many who have been able to reintegrate into everyday life and experience the life -changing benefits of physical activities through Rancho.
