SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION APPROVING APPOINTMENT TO
THE RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION
FOR COUNCIL DISTRICT 1
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Council will consider adopting a resolution to appoint Mr. Oscar Cisco to the Recreation and Community Services Commission for Council District 1.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:
Adopt Resolution No. 24-8271, approving the appointment of Oscar Cisco to the Recreation and Community Services Commission for Council District 1.
DISCUSSION
On August 31, 2024, Ms. Liza Adrian, appointee to the Recreation and Community Services Commission for Council District 1, resigned from the Commission effective immediately.
Council Member Ortiz is recommending the appointment of Mr. Oscar Cisco to the Recreation and Community Services Commission for Council District 1, for the remainder of his City Council term ending December 10, 2024.
Under Downey City Charter Section 902, members of Boards or Commissions shall serve for terms which shall commence with the commencement of the term of the Council Member from whose district the member was appointed and shall end upon the end of the term of the Council Member from whose district the member was appointed or upon a vacancy in that council district. A vacancy occurring before the expiration of a term shall be filled by appointment for the remainder of the unexpired term.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF OSCAR CISCO TO THE RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION FOR COUNCIL DISTRICT 1
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Oscar Cisco is hereby appointed to the Recreation and Community Services Commission for Council District 1 for the term expiring December 2024.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and transmit a copy thereof to the appointee.
