2025
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Council will consider approving the Mayor’s recommended City Council Member appointments to represent the City in the various Inter-Governmental Agencies and serve on the Council Subcommittees for 2025.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:
Approve the City Council appointments to the Inter-Governmental Agencies and Council Subcommittees for 2025.
BACKGROUND
Annually during the month of January, the incoming Mayor appoints the City Council Members to serve and represent the City on various Inter-Governmental Agencies and Council Subcommittees for the year.
ANALYSIS
Per the State Health and Safety Code 4730, the Mayor automatically serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts Nos. 2 and 18, upon assuming his/her position as Mayor. In addition, the Mayor serves as the Primary Delegate for the Los Angeles City Selection Committee.
Pursuant to Section 2024 of the State Health and Safety Code, the City Council must appoint a Trustee to serve as the City’s representative for a two (2) or four (4) year term to the Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District. Council Member Pemberton is currently serving the second year of a two-year term.
Appointments to Ad Hoc Committees are not part of the annual appointments and are handled separately.

Alternate Delegates appointed to serve on any of the Inter-Governmental Agencies are required to attend scheduled meetings in the absence of the Primary Delegate.
