RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
APPROVING COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENTS FOR NON-BARGAINING,
UNREPRESENTED CONFIDENTIAL RESTRICTED CLASSIFICATIONS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022
WHEREAS, the City Manager is requesting City Council authorization and approval of compensation adjustments for Unrepresented Confidential Non-Bargaining Restricted Classifications with regular full-time status (“Unrepresented Employees”) similar to those received by the recognized bargaining groups; and WHEREAS, those Unrepresented Employees are not represented by bargaining units, but they have received similar benefits as those represented by the recognized bargaining units; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval to grant the proposed 3% Cost-Of-Living-Allowance (“COLA”) adjustment effective the first full pay period following January 1, 2022, for Unrepresented Employees; and WHEREAS, the City Manager also recommends approval of the third and final installment of the equity adjustment equal to 1/3 the percentage increase to achieve the target of 95% of market median for these Unrepresented Employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO hereby:
1. Approves the 3% COLA adjustment effective the first full pay period following January 1, 2022, for Unrepresented Confidential Non-Bargaining Restricted Classifications;
2. Approves the third and final equity adjustment equal to 1/3 the percentage increase to achieve the target of 95% of market median for these unrepresented classifications; and
3. Appropriates $60,618 from General Fund vacancy and other salary savings within the Budget for Fiscal Year 2021-22.
