FR: Todd Ellis- Menlo Park Fire Protection District 3/16/22 RE: surplus vehicle donation
Dear Mr. Farr,
The Menlo Park Fire Protection District is currently seeking donations of surplus vehicles for use at our training facility. The vehicles will be used to practice patient extrication and other simulated emergency scenes. This particular type of training is essential to the safety of our personnel and the public we serve.
As the laws in the state get tougher with regards to
the disposal of vehicles we have found that securing this type of prop has become more difficult and the Fire District would greatly appreciate the City of East Palo Alto's assistance.
The Fire District Training Division has selected some of your "surplus' vehicles that would be beneficial to our training. Please see attached list. We will provide for the pick-up, transportation and final disposal of any vehicles donated, with Pink Slips. Once we take delivery the city will have no further liability associated with these vehicles. By making this donation the City of East Palo Alto will be making the best use of their surplus property by allowing it to be used by the local fire department in training to hone their skills.
