A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DISPOSE OF CITY VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT
THROUGH DONATION TO THE MENLO PARK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT WHEREAS, sixteen (16) vehicles from the city fleet and two (2) pieces of equipment are recommended for disposal due to age, mechanical condition, hi-milage, and inoperability; and WHEREAS, surplus items, a detailed list of which is included in the staff report, will be donated to Menlo Park Fire Protection District for fire fighter training and exercises to hone their skills; and WHEREAS, disposal of the surplus vehicles and equipment will reduce overall maintenance costs for the City; and
WHEREAS, the Menlo Park Fire Protection District will provide for the pick-up, transportation and final disposal of the vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the City of East Palo Alto will generate no revenue, but incur no expense so there is no negative impact to the General Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO HEREBY authorizes the City Manager to donate the surplus vehicles and equipment to the Menlo Park Fire Protection District,
