SUBJECT: City Manager Recruitment
Recommendation
By motion, accept staff’s recommendation to assign the City Manager recruitment to Koff & Associates as further described in the staff report.
Background
The City is currenlty faced with three vacancies in the City’s executive team. Two of the positions report directly to the City Council – City Attorney and City Manager. The third vacant position is the City’s Police Chief.
On February 1, 2022, the City Council approved agreements with two recruiting firms to assist the City with key recruitments. The two firms are Koff & Associates (Koff) and CPS HR Consulting (CPS).
The City Council provided direciton that Koff be assigned to manage the City Attorney recruitment, while CPS was assigned the Police Chief recruitment.
Analysis
Staff recommends the City Council select Koff & Associates to manage the City Manager recruitment.
Koff & Associates has more than 20 years of experience providing executive recruiting services and has facilitated numerous City Manager recruitments. Further Koff & Associates has stated that their firm has adequate capacity to manage the City Manager recruitment process.
