Priority No. 6: Create a Healthy and Safe Community
Background
On April 5, 2022, the City Council heard an update and received recommendations regarding the City's unhoused residents. The City Council directed staff to invite the Downtown Streets Team to provide a special presentation at an upcoming City Council meeting. City staff intends to return to City Council at the June 7, 2022 meeting to discuss solutions and strategies to assist unhoused residents. If there is City Council interest in pursuing a Downtown Streets Team program in East Palo Alto, staff may return with a refined cost estimate and draft agreement at an upcoming City Council meeting.
