RESOLUTION NO. XX – 2022
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING THE PASS-THROUGH INCREASE OF $0.78, TO BE EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2022,
TO THE WATER USAGE CHARGES IN THE RATE SCHEDULE ADOPTED VIA RESOLUTION 5154 AND DIRECTING STAFF TO ISSUE A NOTICE OF THE CHANGE TO ALL WATER
SERVICE CUSTOMERS WITHIN THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO WATER SYSTEM NO LESS THAN 30-DAY PRIOR TO INCREASE
WHEREAS, on May 10, 2022 the San Francisco Public Utility Commission (SFPUC) approved an increase in the wholesale water rate from $4.10 to $4.75; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a pass-through provision in Resolution 5154 increasing the approved Water Usage Charge by 1.2 cents for each 1 cent increase in the wholesale rate over $4.10; and
WHEREAS, before the pass-through rates will be effective, the City will follow the pass-through requirements as described in Government Code §53756.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO HEREBY authorizes the pass-through increase of $0.78, to be effective July 1, 2022, to the water usage charges in the rate schedule adopted via Resolution 5154 and direct staff to issue a notice of the change to all water service customers within the City of East Palo Alto water system no less than 30-day prior to increase.
