SUBJECT: Martin Luther King, Jr. Park – Additional Services Request #1 CEQA Items Additional Scope

Dear Patrick,
We are requesting additional services to cover environmental review services associated with additional parcels and park features as described in the master plan. This additional work is described below:
1. Expanded Site for Archaeological Survey – since the initial RFP the project site has expanded to include the undeveloped land in the east under the PG&E easement and the proposed new road with connection to O’Connor Street.
2. Additional Noise Modeling for Recreational Facilities – the project expansion now includes recreational facilities such as the pickleball and basketball courts that were beyond the initial project expansion of new lighted sports fields into the Beech Street parcel.
3. Additional Air Quality for Larger Site and New Road – expansion of the park for construction and operation of a new road to O’Connor Street generate additional air quality emissions thus requiring additional modeling.
4. Traffic Counts – due to changes in traffic patterns from the pandemic, it was assumed prepandemic traffic counts would be utilized. Public Works requested that the scope of work be revised to include new traffic counts at all study intersections.
We request an additional service in the amount of $14,681 for our team for support of this effort. Our services are proposed as time and materials not to exceed.
