Recommendation
By motion:
1. Assign the seats to the Rent Stabilization Board and Public Works and Transportation Commission as described in this memorandum; and
2. Interview applicants and make appointments to:
• The Planning Commission; and
• The Senior Advisory Committee
Background
On June 21, 2022, the City Council conducted interviews for the Rent Stabilization Board and Public Works and Transportation Commission at a Special City Council meeting.
The following appointments were made for the Rent Stabilization Board at the Council meeting on June 21, 2022:

At that time City Council did not clearly assign each appointee a seat; staff recommends and requests that Council confirm the following seat assignments are acceptable.
Analysis
Seat Assignments to Rent Stabilization Board and Public Works and Transportation Commission
Staff recommends the seat assignments be allocated in order of highest to lowest vote count with the highest vote getter receiving the longest term and the lowest vote getter receiving the shortest term.
Staff recommends that the following seat assignments be made to the Rent Stabilization Board:

Question Regarding Residents Serving on Multiple Boards or Commissions On June 21, 2022, a question was raised regarding whether a resident could serve on two boards or commissions at the same time. Staff researched this question and wants to report that according to the East Palo Alto Municipal Code, the Public Works and Transportation Commission is the only body that does not allow a resident to serve on any other board or commission at the same time.
