A PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
HONORING ANA MARIA PULIDO FOR HER
YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, Ana Maria Pulido served faithfully for 20 years by the community of East Palo Alto by, in part, serving on the Ravenswood City School District Board of Trustees, additionally serving as a Board Member of Nuestra Casa and Bay Area Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Pulido was awarded both the Exemplary public sector service award and the Young emerging leadership award; and
WHEREAS, while serving on the Ravenswood City School District Board of Trustee she led effortsto secure millions of dollars from non-profit foundations, led Bond and Parcel tax measures to further secure other desperately needed funds; and WHEREAS, those financial efforts were sued to support science, technology, math and engineering initiatives, improved early literacy, music programs, increased preschool opportunities and developed a district-wide community/schools safety net for all students, retain high quality teachers, reduce class size and improve school facilities; and WHEREAS, Ms. Pulido has dedicated nearly 20 years of service to community and faithbased organizations that continuously work on improving the lives of youth, homeless, previously incarcerated, undocumented, and disabled persons as well as those struggling with mental health and various addictions.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Ruben Abrica, Mayor of East Palo Alto, along with the City Council of East Palo Alto do hereby honor and celebrate Ana Pulido for her years of service to the community and wish her success in her future endeavors.
