A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE TWO VEHICLES FROM DOWNTOWN FORD SALES FOR THE BUILDING SERVICES DIVISION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $58,046.36 WHEREAS, the Building Services Division is responsible for a variety of services and tasks including but not limited to building inspections and enforcement of state and local regulatory laws within City limits which require the daily operation of dependable vehicles; and WHEREAS, the vehicles will reduce “downtime” for City services and minimize repair costs; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of General Services has established a standing purchase contract with Downtown Ford Sales in Sacramento, California for light trucks, vans, and utility vehicles and the City is using the state contract (Contracts #1-22-23-23 A – I) providing fleet vehicles at pricing to the State of California and local governmental agencies; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the vehicles is a General Fund expenditure that was included in the Building Services Division’s FY2022-23 budget adopted by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO HEREBY authorizes the City Manager to purchase two vehicles for the Building Services Division of the Community & Economic Development Department from Downtown Ford Sales of Sacramento, California in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Eight Thousand Forty-Six Dollars and Thirty-Six Cents ($58,046.36).
