A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM H & H EVERGREEN FOUNDATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000 TO BENEFIT THE EAST PALO ALTO POLICE
DEPARTMENT COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, H & H Evergreen Foundation proposes to donate $150,000 to the City of East Palo Alto to support the Police Department’s community programs; and, WHEREAS, H & H Evergreen Foundation requested that $30,000 be used to purchase gift cards to be used in the holiday traffic safety program; and WHEREAS, H & H Evergreen Foundation also requested that $20,000 be used to fund the purchase of toys to support the Police Department’s annual holiday gift program for East Palo Alto families in need; and
WHEREAS, H & H Evergreen Foundation requested that $100,000 be used by the East Palo Alto Police Department for departmental needs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO hereby authorizes the City Manager to:
1. Accept a donation of funds in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000) from the H & H Evergreen Foundation, and execute a Donation Agreement to support the Police Department’s Traffic Safety Awareness Program ($30,000.00) and Annual Toy Distribution Program ($20,000.00), and general departmental needs ($100,000) in accordance with the City’s Donation Acceptance Policy; and
2. Express the City Council’s appreciation for the donation to the H & H Evergreen Foundation.
