A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SWEEPING
CORPORATION OF AMERICA FOR CITY-WIDE STREET SWEEPING SERVICES FOR A TERM OF
THREE YEARS WITH THE OPTION FOR TWO, ONE-YEAR EXTENSIONS AT A COMPENSATION RATE OF $361,750 PER YEAR
WHEREAS, current street sweeping contract for the City of East Palo Alto expires on December 31, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the City of East Palo Alto issued a request for proposals (RFP) based on a scope of services necessary to clean the City streets and eliminate the potential of litter and debris from entering the City’s storm drain system and the nations’ waterways; and WHEREAS, the City of East Palo Alto received one proposal from Sweeping Corporation of America (SCA); and
WHEREAS, SCA (formerly known as Clean Street) is the current street sweeping provider for the City of East Palo Alto and has been effectively providing services to the City since 2017; and WHEREAS, staff has negotiated an annual cost of this service up to an amount of $361,750;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO HEREBY authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract with Sweeping Corporation of America (SCA) for City-wide street sweeping services for a term of three years with the option for two, one-year extensions, at a compensation rate of $361,750 per year.
