RESOLUTION NO. xx-2023
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH G. BORTOLOTTO & COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
IN THE AMOUNT OF $508, 359.19
WHEREAS, the Annual Street Resurfacing Project (“Project”) includes roadway rehabilitation and preservation, pedestrian improvements, bicycle facility improvements, and traffic calming measures; and
WHEREAS, on April 5, 2022, the City Council approved the Plans, Specifications, and Estimate and authorized the advertisement of the project; and
WHEREAS, on May 17, 2022, City Council awarded the project to G. Bortolotto & Company, Inc. in the amount of $3,191,567.97 with a 10% contract contingency of $319,157.00 for a total contract amount of $3,510,724.77; and
WHEREAS, construction for the project began July of 2022 and the project was substantially complete by December 2022; and
WHEREAS, a contract amendment in the amount of $508,359.19 is needed to perform additional construction services relating to ADA improvements within city neighborhoods as well intersection improvements at University Avenue and Michigan Avenue; and WHEREAS, the additional improvements can be funded through TDA Article 3 grant ($360,000) as well as Measure W local tax ($40,000) and Measure M local tax ($108,359.19).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO HEREBY authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract amendment with G.
Bortolotto & Company for construction services in an amount of $508,359.19.
