RESOLUTION NO. XX- 2023
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
WAIVING THE FORMAL BID PROCEDURES TO RATIFY PREVIOUS PURCHASES FROM COMCAST IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,048.71, AND AUTHORIZE ADDITIONAL PURCHASES OF $5,100 MONTHLY, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $40,068.71 WHEREAS, the City requires significant internet bandwidth with limited downtime to operate efficiently; and
WHEREAS, the City participates in the California Network and Telecommunications (CALNET) NextGen Program which are competitively bid telecommunications contracts; and WHEREAS, Comcast offers services through the NextGen program and has provided the reliable service at the bandwidth the City requires.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO HEREBY:
1. Adopts the recitals set forth herein as findings of fact;
2. Waives the formal bid procedures under section 2.84.070(D) of the Municipal Code;
3. Ratifies the previous purchase of Comcast services through February 28, 2023, in an amount of $16,048.71; and
4. Authorizes the purchase of Comcast services from March 1, 2023, through June 30, 2023 in the amount of $5,100 monthly, for a total purchase amount of $40,048.71.
