Why would you like to serve on the Planning Commission? To continue the work, dialogue, and Evening out of the platinf field of an equity of land purchase, land use, and ownership in the city I LOVE of East Palo Alto. We must not forget as development and modernization of our city of the giants shoulders the soil we build on and the people who unapologetically stood for our incorporation as a city. In addition to change covid has created where partnership looks a lot different from the developer and our lamd. We must reevaluate office space. We must reevaluate labs as if they are a solution for the now. Where we reevaluate community benefits that are creative and makes sense and a long term solution for the residents of East Palo Alto alto jobs, resolution to hold by EPASD (as a current entity) of projects and guide when projects are approved. Let's continue the work

Why would you like to serve on the Planning Commission? The Planning Commission is a vital factor in shaping East Palo Alto's future. As an alternate member for the past two years, I regularly attend meetings to express my concerns and commitment, even though I cannot always vote. I have a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from San José University and work in the community, leading an accessory dwelling unit program and providing assistance to homeowners. I am involved in the Climate Change Community Team, recognizing the crucial role that housing, transportation, and land use have in the city. I strongly believe in community self-agency and determination, and consider myself a lifelong learner who is always willing to ask questions and collaborate.

Why would you like to serve on the Planning Commission? I would like to serve on the Planning Commission because I’m am a very active and vested community member of EPA. I already attend the City Council Meetings. I make my voice and concerns heard by not just complaining, but providing solutions to some of our biggest challenges that have faced EPA for decades: Infrastructure, Flooding, Air pollution and our water conditions. I will always ensure that the residents of EPA needs are always put first and that any and all projects are built with monetary value for EPA, and not just for developers. My plan is to hold developers accountable by making them contribute real community benefits (CB) that residents want and need and not what they considered to be CB regardless of the cost to them. EPA is prime real estate and it’s time that we start acting like it and stop selling our city short. Please appoint me to the Planning Commission, if you desire real change in EPA.

Why would you like to serve on the Planning Commission? I know Real Estate for one thing. I have been Trained in ALL aspects of Real Estate since 1980. I know the "jargon" I've dealt with Real Estate Developers extensively. I want to make sure that The City is moving in the proper direction and to NOT given away the LAST of our 2.5 miles of remaining Land. I know "Urban Design" I have the utmost respect for the City and the direction we will go.
