RESOLUTION NO. XX – 2023
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO
RATIFYING PAYMENT TO PENINSULA UNIFORMS OF REDWOOD CITY FOR $606.14; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INCREASE THE PURCHASE AUTHORITY WITH PENINSULA UNIFORMS BY $10,000 BRINGING THE TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED TO $35,606.14. AND WAIVING THE FORMAL BID PROCEDURES UNDER SECTION 2.84.070(D)
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, for Fiscal Year 2022-23 the City Manager authorized $25,000 in purchase authority with Peninsula Uniforms of Redwood City; and
WHEREAS, this Fiscal Year the City has hired larger than usual number of new officers; and WHEREAS, due to this increase in hires the City has equipment accumulated $25,606.14 in expenses with Peninsula Uniforms of Redwood City; and
WHEREAS, the City requires additional uniforms and safety equipment for new hires this Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, the City of East Palo Alto has been very satisfied with quality, accountability, of the uniforms and equipment; and
WHEREAS, continuing with the current vendor to close out the existing order would be most expeditious; additionally, conducting formal bidding would not likely lead to additional savings for an order of this size.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO HEREBY:
1. Finds the foregoing recitals true and correct and incorporated by reference into this action;
2. Ratifies prior purchases to Peninsula Uniforms of Redwood City for $606.14;
3. Authorizes the City Manager to increase the Purchase Authority with Peninsula Uniforms of Redwood City by $10,000 bringing the total not to exceed to $35,606.14; and
4. Waives the formal bid procedures under section 2.84.070(D) of the Municipal Code.
