The El Centro City Council met in a special meeting on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. in RDA Conference Room, 1249 Main Street, El Centro, California.
PRESENT: Council: Crankshaw, Camarena, Ellett, Marroquin City Clerk Wyles, Acting City Manager Sawyer, City Attorney Martyn Evans ABSENT: Council (Carter arrived at 4:45 pm)

Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America was led by Council Member Crankshaw and Invocation was given by Council Member Camarena.

NEW BUSINESS
1. Presentation by Mayor Pro-Tem Ellett, introduction of a Resolution opposing Proposition 50.
Public comments were received by Frances Beope, Maria Peinado, Ramon Chavoya, Peter Rodriguez, Norma Villaescusa, Manuel T. Sanchez, Michael Morales, Sky Ainsworth.
All Council Members gave a statement regarding their position on Proposition 50.
Moved Ellett, second by Camarena, adoption of Resolution No. 25-67, RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL CENTRO OPPOSING CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 50, THE USE OF LEGISLATIVE CONGRESSIONAL REDISTRICTING MAP AMENDMENT.
