NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – EL CERRITO CITY COUNCIL
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE PIERCE STREET/SAN MATEO STREET UNDERGROUND UTILITY
DISTRICT
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2025 – 6:00 P.M.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the El Cerrito City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider establishment of the Pierce Street/San Mateo Street Underground Utility District along Central Avenue from the western limit with the City of Richmond east to Yolo Avenue, and San Mateo Street from Central Avenue south to the Richmond city limit, pursuant to Chapter 14.08 of the El Cerrito Municipal Code and California Public Utilities Commission Rule 20. Creation of the Underground Utility District is a necessary procedural step under Rule 20 for replacing existing utility poles, equipment, and overhead lines with underground lines and equipment. This action is exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15302(d).
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that said hearing will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., or thereafter, in the City Council Chambers, located at El Cerrito City Hall, 10890 San Pablo Avenue and available for viewing only using the video conferencing platform Zoom.
