UPDATE TO THE CITY’S GENERAL PLAN SAFETY ELEMENT
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2025 at 6:00 PM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the El Cerrito City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider adoption of an update to the City’s General Plan Safety Element and finding that the Safety Element Update is consistent with the certified General Plan Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and that an Addendum has been prepared in accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15164.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that said hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., or thereafter in the City Council Chambers, located at El Cerrito City Hall, 10890 San Pablo Avenue and using the video conferencing platform Zoom. Additional information can be found in the meeting materials at www.elcerrito.org/CouncilMeetingMaterials available at least 72 hours before the meeting.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the El Cerrito City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider the following:
1) To consider confirming the maximum allowable rates for the collection and post-collection of garbage and organics by East Bay Sanitary Company (EBS), effective January 1, 2026.
The collection and post-collection (meaning transfer, transport, disposal and processing) rates are two of the three components of the total solid waste costs paid by El Cerrito residents and businesses. Rates listed below are monthly rates at one pickup per week (except On-Call Collection of Compacted and Roll-Off, and other Service Charges, which are as noted). The proposed 2026 EBS Rates are:

2) To consider setting Integrated Waste Management (IWM) Fees, effective January 1, 2026.
IWM Fees are one of three components included in the total solid waste collection and postcollection (meaning transfer, transport, disposal and processing) charges paid by El Cerrito residents and businesses. The IWM Fees fund the City’s curbside collection of recyclable materials, operations of the Recycling + Environmental Resource Center, and other solid waste collection, source reduction and integrated waste management services. Fees listed below are monthly rates at one pickup per week (except as noted in the table below). Fees are charged and collected by East Bay Sanitary Company and remitted to the City. The proposed 2026 IWM Fees are:
