It
’s been awhile, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been paying attention.
And Agenda Item 9.4
really got my attention.
I can only say, “You have got to be kidding!”
Who gets a 300%
salary increase?
Government employees are lucky to receive 3% a year.
Additionally, I firmly believe your staff report misleads the taxpayers who would be paying for this outrageous increase, if approved.
The attached screenshots give a factual reporting
of what the Mayor and Elk Grove City Council members actually receive in compensation and benefits.
Why weren’t these amounts included in your staff report?
Were you directed
to mislead the public?
And to Darren’s ask:
It’s not the taxpayers’ problem that Darren had to take a huge cut in pay when he went to work for Stephanie.
If the Council votes to take the maximum increase, is the Council also going to give our police officers a 300% increase?

Are the taxpayers going to
get a 300% decrease in services we have to pay for on a monthly basis?

Esteemed members of the Elk Grove City Council,
I extend my gratitude for the opportunity to address you today. My name is Andrea, typically an advocate for tiny home causes. However, today, I come before you on behalf of a significant community with an urgent and pressing issue that demands your immediate attention.
A company known as "Anchored Tiny Homes" or "ATH" has been exposed for defrauding numerous individuals, including homeowners, contractors, employees, and franchise owners, of millions of dollars. The gravity of the situation compels us to seek your assistance urgently.
Multiple investigative bodies, including the US Attorney General's Office, the FBI, Contractors State License Board, and several DA's offices througout the region have initiated inquiries into this company and its principals. Despite these investigations, no arrests have been made. Concerned citizens in a Facebook group named "Scammed By Anchored Tiny Homes," as reported by ABC, NBC, and journalists from The Sacramento Bee and The Sacramento Business Journal, are actively working to alert the public about the alleged activities of the CEO, Colton Paulhus, whom they consider to be a dangerous white-collar criminal who remains at large.
More than 450 homeowners have been identified as victims, having paid substantial sums to have accessory dwelling units (ADUs) constructed in their properties. They now face the distressing reality that the company has ceased operations, abandoned ongoing projects, left many workers and contractors unpaid, and vacated their physical office in Fair Oaks, CA, overnight.
Disturbingly, recent developments indicate that ATH is attempting to interfere with planning departments, seeking to have permits issued in their name canceled and requesting erroneous refunds. Additionally, a third-party entity known as "Permit Flow," is responsible for managing permit processing for customers, has reported a large number of unpaid invoices.
Customers are encountering obstacles in removing ATH's name from their permit applications, and Permit Flow is also attempting to withhold the release of plans until outstanding invoices from ATH are settled, as the general contractor has failed to fulfill their financial obligations, even though these services were already paid for by the customer.
We strongly urge the
Council to warn their planning departments of these crimes in action and to ask that they work with homeowners experiencing hardships due to permit cancellations and
potential erroneous refund
requests coming from ATH. Thank you for your attention and assistance. I have attached a supplemental document containing developing disheartening
