My name is Sarah and I am a resident of Lincoln CA. I live 5 blocks from the proposed The Gathering Inn (TGI) location. TGI has not been up front and honest with the City of Lincoln nor the residents of Lincoln. Their grant proposal submitted to the state does not align with the rhetoric they are saying to city officials and citizens. They are not welcome in the City of Lincoln and are not to be trusted. Please read their grant proposal yourself and compare what is stated there with what they are telling you. The location they want to open is within 2 blocks of multiple schools, next to senior housing, in right in the middle of Lincoln’s most vulnerable neighborhood. They claim patients to will not be able to leave unescorted, yet in their grant application, they state the patients can access the bus stop .2 miles away (which happens to be in an elementary school parking lot.). They have been secretive and dishonest with us and are not to be trusted. We do not want them in our neighborhood, they are not welcome. Before you fund them, look yourselves at their statistics, grant application, the number of police calls to their locations, and DO NOT fund them. Lincoln is too small of a community with too few resources to handle such an influx of homeless and to support the crooked, dishonest company that TGI is. They are only after tax dollars. They don’t care about the homeless, all they care about is robbing taxpayers to fill their pockets. The homeless make them money. Again, I implore you, DO NOT fund them. Thank you.
