Why are you interested in serving on this Board, Commission or Committee?* Having proudly served as an ETMA board member for several years now and as its current Chair, I have learned first-hand the complexities and challenges of operating a fare-free shuttle service. Alongside very enthusiastic and experienced board colleagues and staff, we have collectively led the ETMA/Emery Go Round through the pandemic, fluctuating ridership demands, and the building of a new bus yard. As a long- time public transit advocate and one of ETMA's two residential representatives, my focus has been three-fold.
First, to ensure our existing Emery Go Round service meets the changing needs of residents, visitors, and workers alike. Second, to look for ways to improve mobility options for our riders as our city grows. And third, to represent residential property owners' interests in the service. If chosen for another term, I will maintain this focus and ensure that the ETMA continues to operate in a fiscally responsible and prudent manner. In closing, the Emery Go Round is a service that every person in Emeryville should be proud of, whether they ride the service or not. Not only is it a great alternative to car travel, but the Emery Go Round is also a catalyst for less traffic congestion, better economic growth, and access to job opportunities. I look forward to continuing my work with the ETMA.
