Study Tour Urban Mobility to the Netherlands
It is my great pleasure to invite you to join us on a study tour to the Netherlands to experience our renowned cycling infrastructure. During a three-day program, the last week of September, you will explore the latest innovations and developments, speak with Dutch experts and get the story behind it.
The aim of the visit is to give you and a selected group of officials from around the US a chance to experience how urban mobility and cycling is incorporated in every day live in the Netherlands, i.e. an active program where you and planning experts (from local government and/or Dutch companies) visit projects that showcase e.g.:
• first – and last mile: public transportation (train/metro) combined with cycling, bicycle parking at train stations, etc.
• mobility hubs of all sizes and scales
• infrastructure and urban planning, such as intersections, roundabouts, ‘Woonerf’ and bicycle streets
In return we like to get a better understanding as to what specific urban challenges are most relevant to you and what narratives or approaches resonate with your audience and/or constituents.
What is included / not included
Costs are covered for accommodations (five nights), most meals and on the ground transportation during the tour (e.g. public transit, bicycle rental, etc.).
As a participant you are responsible for your own flight to the Netherlands, and transportation to and from the airport to the hotel.
Date
The study program will start on Wednesday September 28 at 8:00 am and end on Friday September 30 with a farewell dinner. We ask that you participate in the entire program.
Flights from the US typically arrive in the Netherlands in the early AM If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We hope you are available to join us and look forward to welcoming you the Netherlands.
