For SF Travel, I am an Ambassador to promote tourism and economic growth into San Francisco from domestic and international visitors. I've worked with Community Benefit Districts, Business Improvement Districts, Chambers of Commerce and various neighborhood-associated non-profits, all to increase marketability, consumer base and safety.
Why are you interested in serving on this Board, Commission or Committee? After spending 10+ years living in San Francisco and helping various NPOs and Boards in SF, I've relocated to the East Bay and would like to spread my roots, here, and help my neighbors. Coming out of the pandemic, so many of our businesses and neighbors in Emeryville need support and guidance, and I would like to be that resource.
PLANNING COMMISSION APPLICANTS ONLY
Please provide a short (300 words or less) statement discussing your ideas and attitudes about planning in Emeryville. Please consider issues such as traffic, industrial and commercial development density, affordable housing, maintaining community diversity and jobs/housing balance.
Many people don't understand the power and potential of Emeryville. We have international corporate offices, production studios and world-class healthcare facilities, with only a small fraction of the population of neighboring cities like Oakland or San Francisco. Emeryville has the capability to be a power-house and model for many other small cities, with the right leadership. I would use my experience in community building, marketing, homeless alleviation, senior care, and drug and alcohol counseling to better address some of the issues facing Emeryville and its residents, educate the public at large, and help people in need. My experience ranges from working with the CA Dept of Corrections and Rehabilitation, to planning the Walk to End Alzheimer's in multiple cities. I am a planner, by nature, coupled with a tenacity to pursue the best life possible for my family, friends and neighbors. Our futures rely on a strong community, and I would love to assist Emeryville in defining what this means.
