Why are you interested in serving on this Board, Commission or Committee? I have a 2-year-old and a 4 year old and we love biking around Emeryville as a family. This beautiful little cit 's our home and I would love to have a hand in shaping it for my kids as they grow up

Please provide a short (300 words or less) statement discussing your ideas and attitudes about planning in Emeryville. Please consider issues such as traffic, industrial and commercial development density, affordable housing, maintaining community diversity and jobs/housing balance.
Abundant housing is affordable housing. Homelessness is never solved without housing. Developers looking to build housing should be encouraged to do so. Bike everywhere; a good day is one I don't have to drive my car. Cars should be sparse and electric. Air quality is paramount. Solar is the future. Native and drought tolerant vegetation is essential. Water is scarce and needs to be treated as such. Parklets are good. Free parking is double-edged. Green space is beautiful and important. Trees are important but more trees can be planted if we need to make room for more people. Local business is best supported by more local customers (more housing!). Families are our future-- sidewalks need to be wide and bike lanes need to be protected Surface parking lots = poor land use. Vacant lots should be taxed. Our city is small and land use should be thoughtful. Financial incentives motivate people/developers best and should align with our values. I want a city that is people friendly, business friendly, bike friendly, kid friendly, and car-tolerant some streets should be car-hostile).
