Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Accepting A Donation In The Amount Of $10,000 From Stanford Health Care To The City Of Emeryville Community Services Department To Support Annual Community Events Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council of the City of Emeryville approve the resolution to accept a donation in the amount of $10,000 from Stanford Health Care to the City of Emeryville to support Community Services Department’s Annual Community Events.

BACKGROUND
To enhance the Community Events offered to the community, the Community Services Department has fostered a partnership with Stanford Health Care to provide financial support for our Harvest Festival and Spring Expo held annually at the Emeryville Center of Community Life. This donation will be used to support the operating costs of the events. discussion
The Community Services Department offers several different annual Community Events that are free to all who attend. With the help of our community partners, we are able to provide events and activities such as interactive bounce houses, rock walls, and petting zoos, as well as give away items. In return for their donation, Stanford Health Care will provide signage and staff at the events to promote their involvement in Emeryville and opportunities they provide to the community.

Pursuant to City policy, any monitory or in-kind donations to the City, valued at more than $250, must be approved by resolution by the City Council.

FISCAL IMPACT
There will be no fiscal impact in accepting these funds aside from administrative staff time to facilitate the partnership and assure that all laws and requirements have been met. The donation of $10,000 will be added to Community Services Department fund 5410-62600.

STAFF COMMUNICATION WITH THE PUBLIC
As of this time, the only communication to the public has been with the donor’s representative, Jennifer Torai, Stanford Health Care, Director of Local Government Affairs, who is enthusiastic about this proposal.
