RESOLUTION NO. 22-
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EMERYVILLE APPROVING AND CONSENTING TO A Side Letter of Agreement between the MESA and SEIU Regarding Dispatch SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL
WHEREAS, the Dispatch Unit in the Police Department has had the same schedule for a number of years which includes one eight (8) hour per day, five (5) day per week scheduling option; and WHEREAS, based on Police Management and Dispatch staff showing interest in an additional alternative schedule, a ten (10) hour per day, four (4) day per week scheduling option will be added; and WHEREAS, the result of adding an alternative scheduling option is the need to alter MOU Section 3.10 Dispatch Shift Differential Hours from 5:50 p.m. through 5:50 a.m. to 6:00 pm. through 6:00 a.m. as all schedules will now require a start time on the hour; and WHEREAS, the MESA met and conferred with SEIU over the shift differential hours change; and WHEREAS, there is no fiscal impact associated with the change in hours relating to the dispatch shift differential; and WHEREAS, this resolution was approved by the MESA on November 1, 2022; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of Emeryville hereby adopt this resolution approving and consenting to the side letter agreement between the MESA and SEIU regarding the dispatch shift differential.
