Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Authorizing The City Manager To Execute A First Amendment To The Professional Services Contract With PlaceWorks, Inc. To Prepare The 2023-2031 Housing Element In An Amount Of $14,000 To Cover Expanded Services For A Total Amount Not To Exceed $185,837 And Appropriating $14,000 From The General Plan Maintenance Fund Balance (Fund 225) To Account 80050, Professional Services, In The Fund 225 General Plan Maintenance Budget
WHEREAS, on March 16, 2021, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 21-21 authorizing the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Contract with PlaceWorks, Inc., to prepare the 2023-2031 Housing Element over a term from March 24, 2021 to June 30, 2024 in an amount not to exceed $171,837; and WHEREAS, staff has identified additional items needed to finalize the 2023-2031 Housing Element and to ensure compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act and State Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing requirements; and WHEREAS, PlaceWorks, Inc. has proposed to provide these services for an additional fee, not to exceed $14,000, for a total amended contract amount not to exceed $185,837; and
WHEREAS, the City finds that specialized knowledge, skills, and training are necessary to render the services necessary to do the work contemplated under this First Amendment; and,
WHEREAS, the City has determined that PlaceWorks, Inc. is qualified by training and experience to render such services; and
WHEREAS, PlaceWorks, Inc. desires to provide such services; and, WHEREAS, the public interest will be served by this First Amendment; and, WHEREAS, there is a sufficient fund balance in the General Plan Maintenance Fund (Fund 225) to cover the additional appropriation needed for this First Amendment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Emeryville hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a First Amendment to the Professional Services Contract with PlaceWorks, Inc., in substantial form as attached as Exhibit A to this Resolution, for an additional amount not to exceed $14,000, for a total contract amount not to exceed $185,837, for preparation of the 2023-2031 Housing Element; and be it further RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby appropriates $14,000 from the General Plan Maintenance Fund balance (Fund 225) to Account 80050, Professional Services, in the Fund 225 General Plan Maintenance budget; and be it further DocuSign Envelope ID: 93D18A8A-1EBE-4135-8420-48895975E04E Resolution No. 22-___
First Amendment to PlaceWorks Contract for 2023-2031 Housing Element City Council Meeting | December 20, 2022
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute amendments to the Professional Services Contract with PlaceWorks, Inc., not involving additional compensation, as may be necessary to ensure completion of the 2023-2031 Housing Element.
