Resolution Of The Emeryville City Council Authorizing The City Manager To Issue A Purchase Order To Voice Products, Inc. For The Software Licensing, Services, Support, And Hardware Necessary To Upgrade NICE Inform Voice Recorder Software For Telephone And Radio Transmissions For The Police Department In An Amount Not To Exceed $23,015, And Appropriating Funding From The Police Impound Fund (Fund 213)
WHEREAS, public safety requires that the Emeryville Police Department have an effective telephone and radio transmission recording system; and WHEREAS, recording software allows confirmation of information from callers reporting emergencies and radio transmissions from officers, is used in criminal court proceedings, aids in training for effective communication as well as adherence to Department policies and procedures; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department’s current recording software version is no longer supported by the vendor; and
WHEREAS, the regional organization responsible for maintenance of public safety radios (EBRCSA) only supports NICE Inform software; and
WHEREAS, the total amount required has been determined to be $23,015, which will be allocated from Fund 213-Police Impound Fund; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that the City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase order to Voice Products, Inc. for the purchase of Nice Inform software and five years of maintenance support, for an amount not to exceed $23,015; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that $23,015 be appropriated from Fund 213 – Police Impound Fund.
