Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Appointing City Council Representatives To Serve On Various County, Regional And Statewide Boards, Commissions And Committees For Terms Commencing Immediately And Ending December 31, 2023, Or Until Such Persons Are Replaced Or Their Commissions Expire; Amending And Publicly Noticing FPPC Form Number 806 As Required By FPPC Regulation 18705.5; And Amending The 2023 City Roster Of County, Regional And Statewide Bodies Accordingly
WHEREAS, the City of Emeryville has established various local advisory bodies designed to aid the City Council in the conduct of the public’s business; and WHEREAS, the City of Emeryville has representation on various county, regional and statewide joint powers authorities and advisory bodies as a means of furthering the City’s interests; and
WHEREAS, designated City representatives appointed to the various boards, commissions and committees serve for one-year terms expiring at the end of December, unless otherwise noted; and
WHEREAS, on August 21, 2012, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 12-146 thereby directing the City Clerk to complete and publicly notice the Fair Political Practices Commission (“FPPC”) Form No. 806 of City representatives appointed to compensated positions on county, regional and statewide bodies, as required by FPPC Regulation 18705.5, and accordingly all Council Members may participate in a decision to appoint a representative to a compensated position; and
WHEREAS, on December 12, 2022, the City Council appointed members to various county, regional and statewide bodies; and
WHEREAS, on January 15, 2023, Council Member Ally Medina resigned, whereby vacating her seat on various regional bodies; and
WHEREAS, on February 21, 2023, the City Council held an appointment process to fill the vacancy on the Council, and appointed Sukhdeep Kaur to serve as Council Member for a term commencing immediately and ending December 2024; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that the City representatives designated in Exhibit A attached hereto are hereby appointed to serve on the legislative bodies contained therein as City representatives of the City of Emeryville for terms commencing immediately and ending December 31, 2023, or until such persons are replaced or their commissions expire; and, be it, further RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville directing the City Clerk to amend and publicly notice FPPC Form No. 806 as required by FPPC Regulation 18705.5 disclosing the appointment of City representatives to compensated positions on county, regional and statewide bodies; and, be it, further
