My experience as a public service employee and community board member with the City of Oakland and Emeryville, ive worked with community members, partners and staff to develop and deploy various community initiatives and plans including support to children, families, elderly, disabled, affordable housing and support to vulnerable communities and businesses. Id like to continue to strategize ways to support local small businesses in Emeryville.
Why are you interested in serving on this Board, Commission or Committee? As a resident and business owner of Oakland, I like to support the City's local small business strategy particularly around visibility, local use and minority preference.

Though Emeryville is a small City its imperative to prioritize its local businesses that contribute to he viability of its economy. While neighboring cities give preference to their local businesses, mervville businesses are not, having an adverse affect on job security, financial stability and reduction in the City's business tax revenues.
