RESOLUTION NO. 23-55
Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Amending The Membership Composition Of The Parks And Recreation Committee; And Amending The FY2022-23 Local Roster Of Boards, Commissions And Committees Accordingly
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Committee (“Committee”) was established on October 2, 2012, by Resolution No. 12-186; and
WHEREAS, the Committee’s membership included one Planning Commission member; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has not had a Planning Commissioner appointed since January 20, 2021, after former Planning Commissioner Douglas Miguel Guerrero resigned; and
WHEREAS, the Committee wishes to amend their membership composition to include one “Planning Commissioner or Community Member” in order to achieve a full roster in absence of an interested Planning Commissioner; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that the membership composition of the Parks and Recreation Committee be hereby amended to include one “Planning Commissioner or Community Member”; and, be it, further RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that the FY2022-23 Local Roster of Boards, Commissions and Committees is hereby amended to include the aforementioned changes.

Committee Facts Committee members shall receive no compensation. However, members may receive reimbursement for actual expenses incidental to carrying out the duties of the office, provided that they have first received specific City Council authorization for, and can verify, the expenditure and its purpose. City of Emeryville elected officials may not serve on this Committee. The City of Emeryville does not specifically prohibit concurrent service on more than one committee, provided, however, that the Government Code prohibition against incompatible offices shall apply. If a request were made to serve on more than one committee, a determination would be made as to whether that service would be allowable.
